You may acquire a new domain name for use on your site by selecting "Domain Name" on the Navigator Menu. From here you can perform fast WHOIS lookups, register for a new domain, set up the domain pointer on your system, or remove domain pointers no longer needed. If you want to register a new domain name, you may also use the "New Domain Registration" button located on the Title Bar.
WHOIS Utility

To check on the availability of a domain name, enter the name in the WHOIS utility section of the Work Area, then click on the "Search WHOIS" button.

ControlPoint will access the appropriate domain registrars to retrieve any available information about the domain name. If the domain name exists, you will see a listing.

If the domain name does not exist, you will see a "No Match for ..." message.

If the domain is available, you may immediately register for it my clicking on the "New Domain Registration" button on the Title Bar.

Create Domain Name Pointer
Once you have your new domain name, you may wish to activate the name on your server for future use. This is known as "parking" the domain name. To park your new domain name, enter the name in the Park Domain Name section of the Work Area, then click on "Add Domain". Your domain is now parked and can be removed at any time.
List Existing Domain Name Pointers
To remove a parked domain, select it with your mouse from the list of domains in the Remove Parked Domain section of the Work Area. Once you have made your selection, click on "Remove Domain". Your domain name is now no longer parked.
